Where to Spend Your Labor Day

With a little over a month until Labor Day, it’s time to start thinking about where you want to spend your long weekend. Whether you make it a family adventure before school starts, a romantic getaway with your significant other, or a solo trip, our Bradley Airport parking company has a few suggestions for where to go:

Grand Teton National Park

If you’ve never been to this national park in Wyoming, it’s worth a trip. The area offers beautiful mountain scenery and an abundance of wildlife including elk, moose, bison, and more. Plus, nearby Jackson Hole is a quaint little mountain town with a variety of mom-and-pop restaurants and shops.

Seattle

While Seattle gets a bad rap for being rainy, summertime yields beautiful, sunny weather and warm temperatures that extend through Labor Day. Once you arrive, hop on a relaxing boat tour along the bay, visit the iconic Pike Place Market, and discover the city’s many different craft breweries.

Martha’s Vineyard

This small island south of Cape Cod has long been a popular weekend getaway for East Coasters. It offers the perfect combination of charm and seclusion. Each year, the area hosts a Labor Day Festival that features unique furniture, jewelry, clothing, fine art, and more made by local island artists.

Asheville

If you’ve ever been to Portland, Oregon or Austin, Texas, you’ll love Asheville, North Carolina. The city is nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains, which means a mild climate and beautiful views. Roam the streets and you’ll find bars, restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops with their own unique personalities.

Lake Tahoe

If you missed your chance to take a lake trip this summer, it’s not too late! Plan a long weekend in Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada and you can enjoy 55 acres of sandy beaches, rocky coves, and forestry, not to mention plenty of swimming and water activities. Head there during Labor Day for the fireworks extravaganza.

Minneapolis-St. Paul

Minnesota is best visited in the summertime, and Labor Day brings temperatures in the high-70s. Head to the Twin Cities and enjoy a Twins baseball game, check out the Walker Art Center, or stroll around the iconic Mall of America. For a dose of nature, head to Minnehaha Park or the Chain of Lakes downtown.

The Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort

Looking for adventure this year? Head to the Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort in The Forks, Maine. This organization sets up group whitewater rafting down class III-IV rapids where the Dead River and Kennebec River meet. Afterwards, you can relax in the hot tub, enjoy a cold beer, or sit by the campfire.

Cannon Beach

A beach trip in Oregon is much different than a beach trip in the Carolinas. Cannon Beach gives visitors a taste of a classic seaside town, but with breathtaking lava monoliths along the coastline (the most famous being Haystack Rock). Take a beach stroll during the day, then head to one of the town’s quaint eateries for dinner.

No matter where you decide to go this Labor Day, make a Bradley Airport parking reservation with Z Airport Parking. We make it easy to park your car and get to and from the airport – all while saving time and money.
